Warranty

Your Home Is Protected. Our Name Is On It.

Every custom home we build includes a 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty — insurance-backed structural protection from the day you close.

Building a custom home is one of the biggest investments you'll make. You deserve to know that investment is protected — not just by the quality of our work, but by a formal warranty backed by one of the most trusted names in residential construction coverage.

Alexander2 Construction is an enrolled builder member with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty (2-10 HBW), the nation's leading provider of structural home warranties. Every new home we build is enrolled in the 2-10 New Home Warranty Program, which means your home is covered from the day you close.

Coverage

Three Tiers of Protection

The 2-10 New Home Warranty covers your home across three categories, each with its own coverage period.

1 Year

Workmanship

Covers defects in materials and workmanship against clearly defined construction standards. This includes the quality of installation and finishing work throughout your home during the first year after closing.

2 Years

Distribution Systems

Covers defects in your home's electrical, plumbing, and mechanical distribution systems for two years after closing. These are the systems that keep your home running day to day.

10 Years

Structural

Insurance-backed coverage for load-bearing structural components, including foundations, floor framing, load-bearing walls, columns, beams, and roof framing systems. Covers structural defects for a full decade.

10-Year Structural Coverage

What's Protected Under the Structural Warranty

Footings & Foundation

Shallow and deep foundation systems including footings, slabs, and the load-transfer members that connect your home to the ground it sits on.

Load-Bearing Walls

All exterior walls and interior load-bearing walls that support the floors above and carry the weight of the structure.

Floor Framing

Structural supports for load-bearing floor systems including joists and bridging that transfer loads to walls and foundations.

Columns & Beams

Vertical columns that transmit loads through compression, and horizontal beams, girders, and lintels that transfer loads to vertical members.

Roof Framing

The structural framing system that supports the roof, including trusses and rafters. Non-structural elements like shingles and sheathing are not included.

Soil Movement

Coverage includes structural damage caused by soil movement, including settlement and heave — particularly important for Florida's variable soil conditions.

Why It Matters

What This Means for You

Your warranty is insurance-backed. Unlike a builder-only warranty that's only as good as the builder's ability to pay, the 2-10 structural warranty is backed by insurance. If a covered structural defect occurs, the claim is handled through the warranty program — not dependent on any single company's financial position.

Your warranty is fully transferable. If you sell your home within the coverage period, the structural warranty transfers to the new owner at no additional cost. This can add real value to your home on the resale market.

Dispute resolution is built in. The 2-10 program includes an administered dispute resolution process, which provides a structured path to resolve any covered claims without costly litigation.

It starts the day you close. There's no waiting period and no separate activation required. Your warranty is effective from the date of closing and remains in place for the full coverage period.

Our Commitment

We Build It Right the First Time

The warranty exists as a safety net — but our goal is to build homes that never need it. Every Alexander2 home is built with hurricane-resistant construction methods, quality materials, and the kind of hands-on oversight that catches problems before they become defects.

We carry the 2-10 warranty because we believe in standing behind our work with more than just words. It's third-party validation that the homes we build meet the structural standards our clients expect — and that if anything does go wrong, there's a clear, insurance-backed path to make it right.
