How a Project Works
From first conversation to final walkthrough — here's what to expect when you build with Alexander2 Construction.
Every custom home is different, but the process shouldn't be a mystery. We follow the same disciplined approach on every project — because that's how homes get delivered on time, on budget, and built right. Here's how it works from start to finish.
The Conversation
It starts with a phone call or a meeting. We want to understand your project, your lot, your timeline, and your priorities. We'll ask direct questions and give you straight answers. No obligation, no sales pitch.
By the end of this conversation, you should have a clear sense of whether we're the right fit for your project — and we'll have a clear enough picture to tell you honestly if we're not.
Pre-Construction Planning
Before a permit is pulled or a shovel hits the ground, we do the planning work that prevents surprises later. This includes site assessment, architecture coordination, detailed scope development, material and trade sourcing, and a construction budget you can rely on.
This phase takes time. We don't rush it. A well-planned project runs smoother, finishes closer to schedule, and costs what we said it would cost.
Permitting
We manage permitting entirely. Collier County, Lee County, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Marco Island Building Department, City of Naples — we know these offices and we know what a complete submission looks like.
HOA architectural review, FDEP dock and seawall permits, Army Corps coordination — if your project requires it, we handle it. You stay informed without having to manage it yourself.
Construction
This is where the planning pays off. We manage every trade — scheduling, coordination, quality review, and accountability. You'll have regular updates on where the project stands, what's coming next, and anything that needs your input.
If something changes, you hear it from us directly and we work through it together. We don't avoid hard conversations.
Closeout & Walkthrough
We don't consider a project finished until you do. Final inspections, certificate of occupancy, punch list completion — we work through every item with the same attention we gave the project from day one.
After closeout, we remain accessible. If something needs attention after you've moved in, you have the same contact you've had throughout. Every Alexander2 home is also enrolled in the 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, providing up to 10 years of insurance-backed structural coverage.
How we're different
Our job is to execute your vision, not substitute ours for it. We'll share what we know, flag what we see, and give you honest input. But the home is yours — we never lose sight of that.
Strong pre-construction planning, clear documentation, and consistent communication eliminate most surprises before they happen. The ones that remain get addressed directly.
Florida's building codes are some of the most demanding in the country. We treat them as a starting point. Structural integrity, hurricane resilience, and material quality go beyond what's required.
We don't have a sales team. The majority of our work comes from referrals — clients who had a good experience and told someone they know. We've built the company around earning that trust on every project.
